Heflin - Mallissie Mae Hollis, 87, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Roland Brown,Rev. Franklin Lee Hollis, officiating. Burial will follow in Heflin City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

We mourn the passing of Mallissie Mae Young Hollis, of Heflin, who died after a massive stroke. Mrs. Hollis retired from Pleasant Grove School. Mallissie was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Hollis, parents, Henry and Beulah Young, and sister, Jimmie Holman. Mallissie leaves what was to her, what she was meant to be a "mother", her children, who will forever know that she was just that, a loved, honored, and forever missed mother, their mother, along with their spouses and her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
