Obituary for Violet Brown Morrow

Heflin - Violet Brown Morrow, 86 died May 20, 2016 at her home in Heflin, Alabama. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Violet was born on December 15, 1929 in Micaville, Alabama, to her parents Bill and Elmer Brown. Violet served as the dietician at Coldwater Elementary School for 33 years. She was a member of the Alabama Education Association for 51 years. She won multiple awards over the course of her career. Violet loved to cook and be surrounded by family and friends. Everyone was welcome and no one went away hungry. She was an active member of Pinetucky Baptist Church where she served at various times as Sunday School teacher, choir member, and the church hostess for over 30 years. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 120.
She leaves behind her son Larry and his wife Janie; and her daughter Diann Tanner. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Paul Brown and her sister Addis Lawler.
Special thanks to the caregivers who served during her final days, Becky Ashley, Angel Bailey, Kendra Dickerson and Leslie Glasgow.
Come celebrate her life and legacy at Dryden Funeral Home on May 21, 2016 from 5 until 7 for visitation. Funeral Services will be held at Pinetucky Baptist Church on May 22nd at 2 PM. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Dr. Larry Riddle will be presiding.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies sunday school class; Hope, Faith and Charity.
Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her husband James Ralph Morrow; her son-in-law, Johnny Tanner; parents, Bill and Elmer Brown and multiple sisters.
