Vernon Hyatt was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County and a member of Happy Hill Baptist Church.

He worked at Larry Bell Construction for over 40 years and owned with his wife Hyatt’s Country Store before retiring at the age of 84. The last of these years he was blessed to gain a best friend—Sammy Joe Rollins who has remained by Vernon’s side as one of the family.

Vernon loved horses, westerns, and construction. Storytelling was in his bloodline, and he could make someone laugh until they cried with his jokes and comical remarks. He came to love his Open Windows Bible Devotions and gave to missions at church. He believed in a man honoring his word.

Vernon loved his family and friends, but he was especially fond of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephew Ryan Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Happy Hill Baptist Church.
