Heflin - Verna Sue Baker, 89, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Cleburne County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Heflin Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Morris, Rev. Josh White, and Rev. Brent Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Heflin City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. at Heflin Baptist Church. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include:
Brother - Gary White
Brother - Horace White
God-Daughter - Amanda Clary
Nephews - Greg, Jeff, Danny, Derrick, Larry, Michael, Lynn, Kenneth, Curtis, David & Wayne
Nieces - Paula, Elaine, Colletta
Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Cleburne County Nursing Home,
Verna Sue was a native of Cleburne County and spent a portion of her life in Houston, TX with her husband. After retirement, they returned to Cleburne County where she resided until her death. Verna Sue was an active member of Heflin Baptist Church. Verna Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Denny Baker, parents, Arlin & Pauline White, brothers, Clyde White, Charles White, and James White, and sister, Edna Earl Carter.
