Ranburne - Verdie Smith Whitley, 95, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Cleburne County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Benefield and Rev. T.J. Morgan, officiating. Burial will follow in Ranburne City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2021 from 12:00 PM CST until 2:00 PM CST. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sister-in-law - Lois Noles
Step-Son - Couch(Sue) Whitley
Grandson - Chase(Brooklyn) Whitley
Great Grandchildren - Clete & Cayden Whitley
Pallbearers will be: Chase Whitley, Bryan Toole, Greg Bolton,, Johnny Vise and Bo Williams.
Verdie was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. She was employed at Sewell's in Bowdon. Verdie was a member of Ranburne First Baptist Church. Verdie loved Alabama Football but loved even more taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Verdie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Dora Smith, husband, Olen Whitley, son, Larry Smith, siblings, Velma Estelle Eady, Emanuel Huburt Smith, Beulah Mary Denny, Dorothy Rampy, and Sybil Campbell.
