Ranburne - Steve Anthony Tucker, 61 died Friday, April 9, 2021 at Emory University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Martin, Rev. Lanis White, and Rev. Brent Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Garden. Visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM CST until 7:00 PM CST at Freedom Baptist Church. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Steve was a graduate of Ranburne High School, class of 1978. After graduation , he joined the USMC where he proudly served his country for six years. August 20 1984, he was sworn in as a police officer in his hometown of Ranburne, Alabama. With the exception of just a few months that he worked for the Cleburne County Sheriff's office and the Bowdon Police Department, Steve spent the majority of his career in the place he loved the most. February 18 1991 his title became Chief. This is what he will always be remembered as in Ranburne. Chief was known around town for his laughter and pranks. He had a smile that was contagious and always had a witty way about him. Steve had a passion for serving others and a love for the citizens of his town. Chief was an avid Alabama football fan and loved his family. Mr. Tucker was proceeded in death by his parents L.J. and Martha Tucker.
