Obituary for Maudie Parris Yancy

Heflin - Maudie Parris Yancy, 74, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Roland Brown and Rev. Chad Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Heflin City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 27, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Survivors include
Sons - Keith (Kay) Yancy and Ken Yancy of Heflin.
Daughter-in-law - Melissa Yancy
Grandchildren - Kyle(Rebecca) Yancy, Kolton Yancy, Kaleb Yancy(Hannah Gibson), & Makayla Yancy
Great Grandchildren - Will Yancy, Remi Yancy, Millie & Jamie Emerson
Sister - Margaret Butler
Brothers- John (Cynthia) Parris, Donald (Kathy) Parris and Ronald (Deby) Parris.
Pallbearers will be: Kyle Yancy, Kaleb Yancy, Kolton Yancy, Travis Crowe, Dennis Green, Eric McClenton, James Burgess and Will Yancy.
Maudie was a life long resident of Cleburne County. She worked at Sewell and Lamar Manfacturing Companies, Cleburne County Board of Education and Golden Springs Baptist Church. Maudie loved to bake pies, fudge and bread. On Tuesday and Saturday you could find Maudie working at the Farmer's Market in Heflin where she enjoyed making people laugh. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Maudie was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Yancy, parents Arthur and Ruby Parris, one sister and two brothers. The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Linda Yates and Pat Turner, Emcompass Home Health and Southern Care/ New Beacon Hospice.
