Mary - or Naomi, as she was known to friends - was a devoted Christian and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Troy Mays and Earnest Gray, beloved son Dick Mays, brother Jerrone Kennedy, sisters in law Alice Kennedy and Pat Kennedy, and brothers in law Abe LaBore and Aubrey Cobb.
Naomi was a beloved member of the Micaville community. She owned and operated Micaville Grocery along side her family for over 30 years. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to not only her family but all those around her.
Naomi was a keeper of her family history and loved telling family stories and passing them on to the next generations. She had a wealth of knowledge and experience and loved to share and teach her aquired skills to her family.
Naomi was an avid gardener and maintained multiple flowerbeds. Flowers remind us that a life well-lived leaves behind seeds that keep on growing. Naomi’s stories and her love of family will live on in all of us. What a beautiful legacy.
