Heflin - Janis Faye McElroy, 70 of Heflin, Alabama died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at her residence. Janis was a member of Wise Chapel Church. She was voted senior beauty at Ranburne High School in 1967. She was employed at Bremen Bowdon Investment Company for many years. She lived a quiet life and loved her family. Janis was preceded in death by her father, Arlin G. McElroy and mother, Helen Bernice McElroy and her aunt, Lois Gay of Heflin, Alabama. Janis was survived by her brother, Arlin Eugene McElroy (Shelby), and sister, Betty Sue Dewberry (John), niece, Wendy Cooley, niece, Candice Smith, and nephew, Tracy McElroy (Sholar), three great-nieces, Victoria Jade Knight (Brandon), Kelsey Shadix (AJ), Erika Pledger, and two great-nephews, Caleb McElroy (JoAnn) and Landon McElroy. Four great-great nephews, Parker Mashburn, Bryson Knight, Greyson Knight, Silas Shadix, and a great-great niece, Alexis Mashburn.
A memorial service for Janis will be Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 12:00 CST at Wise Chapel Church in Heflin.
