Obituary for Jacqueline Furgerson

Furgerson
Heflin - July 23, 1925 - April 10, 2020
Jackie "Grammies" Furgerson, 94, went to meet Jesus and Daddy "Gramps", Friday afternoon. Our hearts are saddened but she is where she wanted to be. To know her was to love her. Jackie never met a stranger. Her silly, witty personality was known by many. Jackie was the last of her siblings (3 sisters and 2 brothers) so they are truly having a reunion right now. She passed away quietly and gently on Friday, April 10, with her family around her.
Private Chapel Services will be Monday, April 13 at 11:00 AM. Services can be viewed on Dryden Funeral Home Facebook page at that time. She will be buried next to Gramps at Upper Cane Creek Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 virus it will be a private time with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, if you will, please make memorial contributions to East Heflin Baptist Church.
Grammies was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Loyd "Gramps", five siblings and a precious great grandson, Jordan "Noodle" Perry.
She is survived by her four children, Pat(Al) Barber, Gail(Roy) Walker, Lynda(Jerry) Kaylor, and Tony(Jane Furgerson. Six grandchildren; Kim Nichols, Scott Walker, Tammy Perry, Rodney Kaylor, Amanda Higginbotham, and Mark Furgerson. Twelve great grandchildren, Tyler Nichols, Josh Perry, Zac Nichols, Casey Grimes, Bradley Kaylor, Will Higginbotham, Cole Higginbotham, Reid and Emma Furgerson, Haleigh Kaylor, Max Walker and Logan Martin. Three great great grandchildren; Lovie Perry, Brenton Kaylor, and Madi Grimes.
Jackie was a native of Tallapoosa, GA and a resident of Cleburne County most of her life and an member of East Heflin Baptist Church. One of her favorite time periods was the 20 years she worked as a nursing assistant at the Cleburne County Hospital. She felt it was her calling in life, to nurse and cheer up other folks.
