Obituary for Elizabeth "Libby" Owen

Elizabeth (Libby ) Owen 69, passed away Saturday November 21, 2020 at her home. Libby was born on September 6, 1951 to Henry Lowell White and Annie Laure White. She graduated from Cleburne County High School in 1969. After graduation she went to work for U.S. Gypsum where she worked til her health declined. She enjoyed watching Alabama Football, Nascar racing and working in the yard. She especially enjoyed mowing grass and kept doing so until Multiple Sclerosis began to affect her body. Libby was an active member of Heflin Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Jerry Paul Owen, daughter; Felicia (Stephen) Wheat, grandsons; Alex Owen, Porter Wheat and Owen Wheat, sister; Laura Jane (Ronnie) Mayfield, and special friend and sister-in-law, Camille White. She also left behind her everyday companion Nemo, her black Dachshund who never left her side.
She was preceded in death by parents Henry Lowell White and Annie Laure Giles White and brother Charles Ed White.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Heflin Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 also at the church. Dr. Don carroll and the Rev. Phillip Morris will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Dan Norton, Joe Bailey, Shag Austin, Stephen Barker, Justin Rooks and Warren Sarrell.
