Obituary for Edward J. Morgan

Morgan
Muscadine - Mr. Edward Morgan, age 83, passed away March 6, 2020. Born December 24, 1936 in Bowdon, Georgia. Ed was a resident of Muscadine, Alabama, but moved to Georgia in his teenage years. He met the love of his life, Nell (Scoggins), on a front porch swing. Although they raised their children in Georgia, Alabama always had Ed's heart. In 1988, Ed and Nell had their house built on Ed's grandparent's property in Muscadine and have resided there since that day. Never meeting a stranger, Ed had friends in many states. Spending a fourth of each year in his second home, New Smyrna Beach Florida, where he quickly connected with peers by games of golf or simply walking around the campground making small talk. When at home you could find Ed either fully relaxing in his corner recliner with the NASCAR races on, or outside fixing anything that had a motor. His inability to sit still pushed him to start his own business with his son, Don, selling equipment parts and supplies (Ed Morgan Equipment). He was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, proudly worked on the church sign, and participated cemetery coordination. He found his joy in his family, leaving behind his brother, Everett, and sister, Virginia (Tommy), his three children, Pam Sinyard (Ed), Pat Davis (Keith) and Don Morgan (Barbara), four grandchildren, David Sinyard (Heather), Katie Collis (Cameron), James Morgan and Kimberly Morgan, and three great-grandchildren, Audrey Sinyard, Luke Sinyard, and Carter Collis, and nieces and nephews.

Ed often reminded those around him that he was living on borrowed time, that this was not his eternal home, and so lived his life accordingly. It is his faith in Jesus Christ that pillared the family he shepherded.
