Turner
Heflin - Dorothy Evelyn Turner, 97, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 after a short illness. She was born in Bowdon Georgia on December 15,1922 to Jesse and Myrtice Elkins. She was the 6th of 8 children. She married Allen Guy Turner on January 19, 1945 and began their 71 years of marriage. They raised their family in Heflin and she was active in the Baptist Church as treasurer and Sunday School teacher. Mrs Dorothy served as a girl scout leader at Hollis Crossroads for several years and was employed at Howle and Turner store and Pleasant Grove school.
Private Funeral services will be held at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Philip Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include
Daughter - Judy Tomlinson
Daughter - Nancy(Tony) McManus
Son - Jerry(Meladee) Turner
Son - Dana(Kala) Turner
Son - Mike(Janet) Turner
12- Grandchildren
20- Great Grandchildren
1- Great Great Grandchild
Pallbearers will be Chad Turner, Steven Turner, Jonathan McManus, Joshua McManus, Lee Turner, David Tomlinson, and Austin Turner.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Guy Turner; and son, Anthony Noel Turner.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, or Heflin Baptist Church, PO Box 116 Heflin AL 36264.
