Emmett C. Cofield, Sr., 68 of Heflin, Alabama died on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Born Monday, June 20, 1949. He was the husband of Mary Cofield.

Surviving are sons, Charles Cofield of Oxford, AL and Daniel Cofield of Oxford, AL, daughters, Deannia Cofield of Alexandria, AL, Gayle Owen of Heflin, AL, Sherri Mabrey of Heflin, AL and Glynda Holman of Heflin, AL, sisters, Mickie Haynes of Montgomery, AL, Vickie Cole of Heflin, AL, Reba Thompson of Arab, AL and Freida Sprayberry of Alexandria, AL. Twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel located at 1467 Almon St. Heflin, Alabama 36264 with the Rev. Buddy Robinson and Dr. Mike Haynes, officiating. Interment will be in Heflin City Cemetery, Heflin, AL.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Dryden Funeral Home, 1467 Almon St., Heflin, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Leon Dean, Eric Haynes, Joe Thompson, Jamie Burson, Chris Haynes, and Cody Smith.

Emmett was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. Emmett loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Cofield loved piddling in his barn.
