Heflin - Funeral services, with full military honors, for TSGT Billy John Dunn, USAF Retired, 81, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Upper Cane Creek Church with the Rev. Chuck Jaggers officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Cane Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. at Upper Cane Creek Church. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
TSGT Dunn was a native of Cleburne County and served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. His achievements include: NDSM - National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Republic Vietnam Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal 4 Oak Leaf Clusters and Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.
He is survived by his wife, Chiyo Yano Dunn, of Heflin; Raymond Dunn and his wife, Pam of Helena, AL., Joyce Cappellano of Allen, TX; two grandchildren, Corey Dunn and Stephanie Cappellano.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Dunn and Eunice Parker Dunn, a sister Glema Dunn Ray, and brothers Grover Dunn, Gordon Dunn, and Russell Dunn.
