Mary Norton Burgess-Harless, 85 of Heflin, Alabama died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her residence in Heflin, Alabama.
Born Monday, November 9, 1931.
Surviving are daughters, Susan (Curt) Wesson of Columbia, SC and Cindy Stephens of Heflin , AL, brothers, William "Bill" Norton of Panama City, FL and Jerry Paul Norton of Heflin, AL, sisters, Lovella Prichard of Heflin, AL and Debbie Waldrop of Heflin, AL. Seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel located at 1467 Almon St. Heflin, Alabama 36264 with the Elder Steve Wood and Chris Jackson, officiating. Interment will be in Lower Cane Creek Cemetery, Heflin, AL.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Dryden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Heath Waldrop, Sean Pressley, Steven Weigle, Curt Wesson, Buck Pressley, and Kenneth Pressley.
Mrs. Harless was a native and lifelong resident of Heflin and was a member of Lower Cane Creek Church. Mary worked as a nurse for 40 years with over 20 years at the Cleburne County Hospital. Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Edward Burgess and Clarence Harless, parents, Leonard and Era Norton, and son, Bud Burgess.
