Heflin - Rubie Xzenia Cavender, 87, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Her Residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Pinetucky Baptist Church with the Pastor Vann Williamson and Rev. Frank Burson, officiating. Burial will follow in Pinetucky Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. at Pinetucky Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
Daughter - Nancy C. (Jim) Williams
Grandchildren - Kandas Cavender and Ammie (Ron) Brooks
Great Grandchildren - Brendan, Brice, Callen and Colton Brooks
Daughter-in-law - Bettie Cavender
Special Friends - Geraldine, Syble and Jula.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Wright, Ron Brooks, Ross Wright, Harold Young, Jim Williams, James Edward Thrower, and Shelton Rollins.
Rubie was born in Heflin, Al to Ellis and Ammie Wright on August 15, 1929. She married Jack Cavender on August 1, 1946. Rubie was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. Mrs. Cavender was an inspirational and powerful Christian example. Rubie was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings, her loving spouse of 60 years, her son, Chan and granddaughter, Andrea.
