Obituary for George Curtis Medders Jr.

Eastaboga - George C. Medders, 65, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, in Eastaboga, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with the funeral immediately following on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Dryden Funeral Home at 1467 Almon Street, Heflin, Alabama. George is survived by his wife Stacey Medders; his sons Derek (Storm) Medders and Heath Medders; his sisters Susan Wahl, Judy Fults, Jeannie Medders, all of TN and Joanne (Carlton) Bohannon of DeArmanville; his aunts Nancy Barker of DeArmanville and Barbara Hudson of FL and his uncles Keener (Hilda) Hudson of Anniston and Rowe (Helen) Hudson of FL; seven grandchildren, Mary (Mark) O'Connell, Shean Medders, Blaise Medders, Devin Medders, Nicholas Medders, Annalise Medders, and Warren Medders; two great-grandchildren, Jasen and Victorya O'Connell; his mother in law Sylvia Albea; his nephew Cody Albea, and Kristin Pugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Jane Medders, his former wife, Peggy Curlee, and his granddaughter, Krista Leigh Medders. George was a lifelong resident of Alabama. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and loved them in return. George will be missed by his wife, Stacey, his sons, Derek and Heath, and all that knew him. “For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men” Lamentations 3:31-33.
