Oxford - James Elias Marcum, 76, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Golden Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Heflin City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sister - Barbara (Dale) Nance, Columbus, OH
Grand Child - James Elias Marcum, III
Grandchildren - Allison, Adalynn, Alycia, and Anthony Carter
Great Grandchildren - Ryder and Sage Marcum
Great Grandchildren - Ryan, Ahren, Melinda, Patricia, Grace, Makayla, McKinze, and James
Many Nieces and Nephews and Extended Family
Mr. Marcum was a native of West Virginia and a resident of Alabama since the early 70's. James was a retired major in the U.S. Army where he served three tours in Vietnam. He loved his family, fishing, racing, working outdoors and football. James was the family Patriarch and will be missed. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Marcum, wife, Barbara Marcum, brothers, Ernie and Billy Marcum, and sister, Bonnie Marcum, daughter, Sue Carter, and son, James Elias Marcum.
