Funeral services for James Noel Williams, 72, of Heflin AL will be on January 15 2015 at Dryden Funeral Home at 11am with the Rev. Tom Bonds, Rev. Darryl Robinson, and Rev. Todd Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa Georgia. The family will received friends January 14, 2015 from 5-7 at Dryden Funeral Home. Mr. Williams passed away January 12, 2015 at RMC from an extended illness. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Clark Williams, daughter Renee (Byron) Wheatley and DeAnn (Steve) Coffman, Sister Joan (Ted) Reid, Linda (Jim) Robinson, and Jane (Jack) Fendley, 2 Grandchildren Drew (Brittany) Shelton and Elyse (Heath) Waldrop, 3 Great Grand Children, Gracie Waldrop, Luke Smith, and Kylie Shelton and several neices and nephews. Noel was a native of Fruithurst, Alabama, Oak Level community. He was the son of Troy and Mary Ellen Holland Williams. He married Patricia Clark on August 31, 1962. He was a member of the National Guard. He worked at Moore Business Forms and Higginbotham Printing Company. Noel loved Alabama football and boiled peanuts, he could not watch a game without them. Noel was an avid collector and trader of knives. Noel was a simple man who enjoyed sitting on his front porch drinking his coffee, reading good books, cooking for his family, and he loved his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and friend. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Tallapoosa, Ga and had attended First Baptist Church DeArmanville for the last several years. The Bible verse that sums up Noel’s life is 1 Timothy 6:6-8; Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
